LiteRegister Frequently Asked Questions

What is LiteRegister?

LiteRegister is a mobile-first point-of-sale and business management app for small service businesses. It brings sales, expenses, services, staff, appointments, earnings, and reporting together in one simple system.

Who is LiteRegister designed for?

LiteRegister is designed for service-based businesses such as:

  • Barbers and salons
  • Nail and lash studios
  • Car washes and detailing businesses
  • Tailors and alteration services
  • Mobile repair shops
  • Laundries and dry cleaners
  • Home-cleaning businesses
  • Gyms and yoga studios
  • Freelancers and independent service providers

LiteRegister uses one flexible system that can be adapted to different types of service businesses.

Do I need to install an app?

No. LiteRegister works through a modern web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. You can add it to your phone's home screen for a more app-like experience.

An internet connection is required.

Do I need special POS equipment?

No special POS terminal is required for LiteRegister's main features. You can record and manage your business activity using your existing phone, tablet, or computer.

How do I log in?

LiteRegister uses secure phone-based login. A one-time verification code is sent to your registered mobile number.

Business owners may also add an optional backup email to assist with account recovery.

Does LiteRegister charge a monthly subscription?

No. LiteRegister uses prepaid tokens instead of a recurring monthly subscription.

You purchase tokens when you need them, and your unused balance carries forward into future months.

How much do tokens cost?

The token packs are:

  • 150 tokens for AED 50
  • 320 tokens for AED 100
  • 500 tokens for AED 150

Applicable taxes, promotional offers, and the final amount payable will be displayed before purchase.

Do new businesses get free tokens to start?

Yes. New businesses receive 30 free tokens to try LiteRegister, valid for 14 days from signup. Additional free tokens may be granted at LiteRegister's discretion upon request.

What uses a token?

One successfully completed sale uses one token.

Appointments, expenses, reports, staff management, service management, and viewing existing records do not consume tokens.

Do tokens expire?

Purchased tokens do not expire simply because a calendar month has passed, so a quiet month will not cost you your balance.

To avoid an account holding an abandoned balance indefinitely, a purchased token balance may lapse after 120 days with no sales activity. Any completed sale resets this period, and you will receive a warning before any lapse takes effect.

Free starter tokens are handled differently: they expire 14 days after signup, regardless of activity.

What happens if my token balance reaches zero?

You will see a low-balance notice as your balance runs low. Once your balance reaches zero, you will be unable to complete a new sale until additional tokens are purchased.

You will still be able to log in, view existing records, manage your business, review reports, and access other available LiteRegister features.

Is a token deducted when a sale fails?

A token is used when a sale is entered in LiteRegister. If a QR-code or payment-link sale is cancelled before payment completes, its token is returned.

If you believe a token was deducted in error because of a technical failure, contact LiteRegister support.

Is a token returned if a sale is cancelled, corrected, or voided?

Yes, in most cases:

  • Cancelling a pending, unpaid sale returns its token.
  • Voiding a completed sale without replacing it returns its token.
  • Voiding a completed sale and replacing it with a corrected sale returns the token for the original sale and uses one token for the corrected sale, so the net token cost is unchanged.

Refunding a completed payment to your customer through your payment gateway is separate from token treatment, since the original sale was still completed in LiteRegister.

Can tokens be transferred to another business?

No. Tokens belong to the LiteRegister business account that purchased them and cannot normally be transferred, exchanged for cash, or sold to another business.

Can I receive a refund for unused tokens?

Refund eligibility for unused tokens will be explained at the time of purchase and in LiteRegister's refund policy.

Used tokens are generally not refundable except where required by applicable law or where LiteRegister confirms that a token was deducted because of a technical error.

Can my staff use LiteRegister?

Yes. Business owners can invite staff members and manage their access.

Each staff member uses their own secure login. The information and features available to them depend on their role and permissions.

What is the difference between owner and staff access?

Owners can access business-wide information and management features such as staff, services, expenses, reports, settings, and business controls.

Staff members receive more limited access. Their dashboard and sales information are restricted according to their role, helping protect sensitive business information.

Can staff edit a completed sale?

Staff cannot directly rewrite a completed sale.

If a correction or cancellation is needed, a staff member can submit a change request with a reason. The business owner can then review and approve or reject the request.

This creates a clearer and more accountable transaction history.

Can I see who changed something?

Yes. Business owners can view an activity log showing recent changes within their business, who performed the action, and when it occurred.

What can I record as a payment method?

LiteRegister supports recording payment methods such as:

  • Cash
  • Card
  • QR code
  • Payment link
  • Other payment methods selected by the business

Do I need a payment gateway to use LiteRegister?

No. Connecting a payment gateway is optional.

You can use LiteRegister to record sales, expenses, services, staff activity, appointments, and reports without connecting any payment gateway.

A payment gateway is only required if you want to use LiteRegister's QR-code or payment-link features to collect customer payments directly. Stripe is currently supported, with additional regional payment gateways planned.

How does connecting a payment gateway work?

A business may choose to connect its own payment gateway account (currently Stripe) to LiteRegister.

When an eligible customer pays through a LiteRegister-generated QR code or payment link, the payment goes directly to the business's connected account.

LiteRegister does not receive or hold the business's customer funds.

Who controls my connected payment gateway account?

The business owns and controls its own payment gateway account (for example, its Stripe account).

The business is responsible for:

  • The information submitted to the payment provider
  • The provider's identity and business-verification requirements
  • Account settings
  • Charges and settlements
  • Refunds
  • Disputes and chargebacks
  • Compliance with the provider's terms

LiteRegister may provide guidance during setup, but it does not control the business's payment gateway account.

Passwords, full card details, and verification documents should be entered directly through the payment provider's secure onboarding process and should not be sent to LiteRegister support.

Can LiteRegister issue refunds or manage chargebacks for me?

The business is responsible for refunds, disputes, and chargebacks through its own connected payment gateway account.

LiteRegister may provide general guidance, but it does not control the payment provider's decisions, settlement process, or handling of funds.

Does LiteRegister store customers' card details?

No. LiteRegister does not store customers' full card details.

Payment information is handled by the connected payment provider under its own terms and privacy policy.

Can LiteRegister track tips?

Yes. Tips can be recorded on eligible digital payments.

When more than one staff member provides services in the same sale, LiteRegister can divide the tip between the staff members attributed to that sale.

Tips are recorded separately from service revenue and staff commission.

Can LiteRegister calculate staff commission?

Yes. Business owners can set a commission percentage for each staff member.

The applicable commission rate is recorded when a new sale is created. Changing a staff member's rate later does not rewrite commission amounts from earlier sales.

Can I see staff earnings?

Yes. LiteRegister provides staff-earnings information for selected periods, including sales, commission, recorded tips, and the total payable to each staff member.

Staff access remains limited according to their role, while owners can review business-wide earnings.

Can I manage services and prices?

Yes. Owners can create and manage their services and default prices.

When a new business is created, LiteRegister may also provide a starter service list based on the selected business type. Owners can edit this list to match their actual services.

Can I record expenses?

Yes. Owners can record business expenses, review monthly expense reports, and export relevant information when needed.

What reports are available?

LiteRegister provides business summaries including:

  • Revenue
  • Expenses
  • Net performance
  • Payment-method breakdown
  • Recent sales
  • Staff earnings
  • Monthly expense reporting

Selected sales and expense information can also be exported as CSV files.

Can I manage appointments?

Yes. Owners and staff can create and manage appointments, including the date, time, expected duration, service, assigned staff member, customer information, notes, and appointment status.

Appointments can be marked as booked, completed, cancelled, or no-show.

Does LiteRegister prevent double-bookings?

LiteRegister tracks an expected duration for each appointment (based on the service, with the option to adjust it) and will warn you if a new appointment overlaps with an existing booking for the same staff member.

This is a warning, not a hard block — you can still confirm the booking if you intend to double-book a staff member on purpose (for example, a short add-on alongside a longer appointment).

Does LiteRegister send appointment reminders?

Yes. LiteRegister can send a WhatsApp reminder before an eligible appointment when a valid customer mobile number has been entered.

Reminder delivery depends on the customer's number being available on WhatsApp and on the availability of the messaging provider.

Does LiteRegister track customers' GPS location?

No. LiteRegister does not request or use GPS or precise-location permissions.

General location inferred from an internet address may be used for limited operational purposes, such as suggesting a country calling code.

Who owns the information entered into LiteRegister?

The business retains ownership of the business, sales, staff, and customer information it enters into LiteRegister.

LiteRegister does not claim ownership of a business's operational data.

What is the business responsible for when entering customer information?

Each business decides what customer information it needs to collect.

The business is responsible for ensuring it has the appropriate authority, consent, or other lawful basis to collect, use, and enter its customers' personal information into LiteRegister.

Businesses should avoid entering information they do not genuinely need.

Does LiteRegister sell my information?

No. LiteRegister does not sell a business's information or its customers' information to third parties.

Information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary for functions such as hosting, authentication, communications, token payments, and optional customer-payment features, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Can LiteRegister support access my business account?

Authorized LiteRegister support personnel may access a business account when reasonably necessary to provide support, troubleshoot a problem, protect security, comply with legal obligations, or administer the account.

Support access is controlled, and administrative changes are recorded in audit logs.

LiteRegister support should access only the information reasonably needed to handle the relevant request.

Can LiteRegister support correct a mistake for me?

Where appropriate, authorized support personnel may help correct an account, service, staff, appointment, or transaction-related issue.

A reason is recorded for support changes so there is an audit trail of who accessed the business, what was changed, and when the action occurred.

Is my information secure?

LiteRegister uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect business information. These include secure login, access controls, encrypted connections, business-level data separation, security monitoring, and audit logging.

No online system can guarantee complete security. Owners and staff are responsible for protecting their login details and promptly removing access that is no longer required.

What happens if I stop using LiteRegister?

Stopping activity does not automatically remove an unused token balance.

If you want to close the business account, you may contact LiteRegister support. Account information will be retained and deleted according to the Terms and Privacy Policy, including any stated recovery period and any legal, security, backup, or dispute-related retention requirements.

Is LiteRegister available outside the UAE?

LiteRegister is built and operated in the UAE, with UAE service businesses as its initial focus.

Some features may work in other countries, but availability, pricing, payment connections, messaging, taxes, and regulatory suitability may vary by location.

Is LiteRegister guaranteed to be available at all times?

LiteRegister is designed to be reliable, but no online service can guarantee uninterrupted availability.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, internet problems, payment-provider issues, communications services, or other third-party infrastructure.

Who operates LiteRegister?

LiteRegister is operated by Chapter Two Trading FZE, Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates.

How do I get help?

You can contact LiteRegister support using the support option provided inside the app.

Support can assist with account setup, staff access, services, appointments, token purchases, optional payment gateway connections, and general troubleshooting.
